Workshop no. 1 “Large Format Woodcuts”
Take advantage of our large printing press and join us in learning how to create and print GIANT wood cuts. Each participant will be able to create up to 2 large woodcuts of a maximum size of 3 ft. by 6 ft. in size. Participants will learn the ins and outs of carving, inking, and printing techniques.
THREE SESSIONS: Saturdays, 3-6PM, August 9th/16th/23rd
FEE: $180 (class fee includes basic materials)
SPACE LIMIT: 4 maximum
Workshop no.2 “Introduction to Screenprinting”
Participants will learn an array of screenprinting techniques including photographic stencil processes, the use of screen filler to create stencils, hand cut stencils, and monoprints with water soluble crayons. The class will also cover preparing the screen, registration methods, and printing techniques.
FOUR SESSIONS: Monday and Wednesday, 6-9PM, August 18th/20th/25th/27th
FEE: $180 (class fee includes basic materials)
SPACE LIMIT: 6 maximum
Workshop no.3 “Advanced Screenprinting”
Participants will be introduced to advanced screenprinting techniques such as multiple color printing, registration methods, the reduction method of multi-color screenprinting, the four-color process, and advanced inking techniques.
FOUR SESSIONS: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-9PM, August 4th/6th/11th/13th
FEE: $180 (class fee includes basic materials)
SPACE LIMIT: 6 maximum
Rent time on the press
Artists who are already familiar with printmaking techniques may rent independent work time on our presses. Renters must provide most of their own materials beyond basic shop equipment.
